Don’t Be a Moth: How to Round Effectively, Efficiently, and for Impact

Session Description: While many nurse leaders enjoy rounding on patients or staff, it can be a time-consuming endeavor that leaves them also feeling defeated. Staff and patients need a lot of support, and nurse leaders walk a fine line of supporting their teams versus doing the teams’ work. This is why rounds can become a flurry of activity that yields inadequate results and takes up a tremendous amount of time. In this discussion, Greta will use humor and practicality to describe what happens in the real world, and what leaders can do to make it an “ideal” world. Participants will learn three strategies to use to maximize the impact of their rounds and save themselves time on their journey to create the outcomes they desire.

* registration deadline is 8:00 AM, ET, Monday, May 19, 2025. We must provide a headcount to the restaurant on Monday morning.
