The Pennsylvania Action Coalition (PA AC), in partnership with the Pennsylvania Organization of Nurse Leaders (PONL) and the National Nurse-Led Care Consortium, is producing a webinar series that focuses on institutionalizing a culture of resiliency for nurses during a high-stress time. In producing this webinar series, we aim to provide a platform to share tangible resources that can be implemented across various nursing roles that are specific to their work. We extend our sincere gratitude to nurses who are currently serving on the front-lines of the COVID-19 pandemic and the entire nursing profession for their dedication to our health and safety.

With the dramatic growth of the Latino older adult population, Alzheimer’s poses a serious threat to the health and economic well-being of the Latino community. In fact, by 2030, nearly 40% of Americans living with Alzheimer's will be Latino or African American. This webinar will provide an overview of the latest science related to health disparities in Alzheimer’s impacting Latino families, including lagging detection and inaccessible research. Health and advocacy experts will discuss opportunities for promoting culturally tailored brain health education in communities and in healthcare practices. The webinar will culminate in a call to action related to filling brain health knowledge gaps among Latino-serving providers who work on the frontlines of the growing Alzheimer’s crisis in underserved communities.

Presented by:

  • Adriana Perez, PhD, CRNP, ANP-BC, FAAN, FGSA, Assistant Professor of Nursing and Senior Fellow, Leonard Davis Institute of Health Economics at the University of Pennsylvania School of Nursing
  • Jason Resendez, BA Executive Director, LatinosAgainstAlzheimer’s Coalition, convened by UsAgainstAlzheimer’s.

CALLING ALL HEALTH PROVIDERS: We are conducting an education/training needs assessment survey to improve memory and dementia care for Latino patients and their families. If you can lend us 15 minutes of your time, please take the Health Provider Survey, administered by LatinosAgainstAlzheimer’s and National Association of Hispanic Nurses. You could win a $25 gift card! Take the survey here.

Due to the limited capacity of logins available on this webinar, please consider signing up your organization and viewing the webinar as a group in one location. Individual CNEs will be offered to attendees from the same organization who view webinar as a group. After the webinar the person who registered the group will be sent an evaluation link. YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE TO DISTRIBUTE THIS LINK to your attendees. Attendees must complete the evaluation to receive CNE certificate.

Please indicate on the registration form that you are registering a group.

We appreciate your understanding in helping us allow as many nurses across the commonwealth as possible to view this presentation!
